The End

1. What do you like about blogging?
Blogging has increased my understanding regarding each lesson every week. Besides, it helps me to reflect and monitor my own learning creatively and critically.

2. What you do not like about blogging?
Compared to Google site, handling blogspot is easier but sometimes the process to upload pictures especially the animated one will take time. Besides, after inserting the pictures, the arrangement of our writing will be affected as well. So it’s quite frustrating.

3. What have you gained from blogging e.g. Language skills, improved fluency, critical thinking, improved thought processes, technology skills etc. How?
Honestly, my language skills have improved from blogging because every week I have to come out with different entry. So lots of critical and creative thinking need to be applied so that my writing will reflect my maturity in writing as well as give benefits to the other’s readers. Besides, it has exposed me to technology as this is my first experience in blogging.

4. What do you like about this course?
This course have exposed me to lots of technology skills such as photo, video and audio editing. I’ve never experienced doing all these things before. All the skills are useful because now I’m able to edit my pictures as well as creating my own videos and e-book
5. What you do not like about this course?
Honestly speaking, there are two things that I don’t like; the module and the tasks. I’m not trying to say that the tasks are inessential, but with quite thick module such as module 1 and 2, it’s hard for me and most of us to cope with it. We have to be a very good time planner in order to finish all the modules and the tasks.

6. What have you learnt from this course?
I get to know lots of technology software such as Adobe Photoshop CS3, FxFoto, Audacity and many more. Besides, I have improved my skill in creating the technology-based teaching aids such as video, e-book and also podcast.

7. What have you learnt from this course that you did not expect to?
As I said earlier, there are tasks for each module. So it really takes lots of time to finish the tasks together with the modules.

8. What have u expected but do not learn from this course?
Definitely the two books. I only used one of the books written by Susan Halliwell once during the class discussion and read it once for the final test. I think it will be useful if the book is explored well because it provides us with lots of activities for the ESL classroom.

Week 14

This is the last week for PBEY 3102. I’m sure all of us are really busy with Module 5 and all the three tasks. We have to submit all those works on 22th November 2010. Besides, we have to get ready for the test. The 2 hours test is on the 1st November 2010.I felt quite nervous because it was the very first paper since I’m at UM. So it is quite challenging as I need to digest what I’ve learnt from the beginning.
On the 1st November, all of us sat for the test. I can see that there was a butterfly in my stomach. Luckily I was able to calm myself and answered all the 4 questions within the time given. Thus, while doing the test, I realized the important of completing the tasks given in each module. The tasks really help me in answering all the questions especially the last question which required us to choose a topic and explain about technological teaching aids for every stage in the lesson plan.

After the exam, we have to continue our work for Module 5 and also completing the last entry for ‘blogspot’. Well, that's all for this week entry. Have a nice day and happy working.

Week 13

Time moves very fast and this is the second last class for resources subject. As for this week, we are required to submit Module 2 and all the 3 tasks, individual (photobucket), pair (e-book) and group task (lesson plan).
During the class, Puan Foziah checked our story boards for the video. Most of us were on the right track. Then, she did remind us to choose a good theme so that we will be able to deliver the message clearly. So my Chrispin and I decided to choose one topic from year 4 which is Unit 8: Beautiful Malaysia. The title of our video is Beautiful Malaysia, Sabah.
In the video, we talked about a trip to Sabah, the land below the wind. So we inserted a few beautiful places in Sabah such as Tanjung Aru, Simpang Mengayau and Mount Kinabalu. The message that we want to deliver is related to the environment, protect the nature. So if we are going to use the video in classroom later, we can inculcate this moral value to them. We can advice them to keep the tourism places clean.

So that’s all for now. See you again in the next entry.

Week 12

e-book for children
This would be the 12th week of my resources class. First of all, Puan Foziah showed two e-books that have been prepared by our seniors. She wanted us to see the differences between the two e-books. The first e-book, ‘Keluarga Saya’ is quite simple as it only contains pictures and recorded sound. The second e-book is more attractive as the creator inserted lots of animated pictures (animals) and songs. Thus, I realize that in order to come out with good e-book, the combination of good pictures, and sounds are very important. She also told us to insert ‘navigation’ tool in the e-book that will enable us to move to the ‘next slide’ and return to the ‘previous slide’ in an easier way.
Besides, she reminded us to select meaningful theme before creating the e-book. Then,  it must have the plot ( conflict, climax and resolution). Moreover, the story must have clear characters and also the setting (Time and Place).
After that, she distributed the continuation parts of Module 2 and  showed a sample of video editing as we are going to do video editing for the next task in Module 4. She did tell us about the criteria for a good video. Then, we have to choose our own pair and select topic from KBSR syllabus. Chrispin and i choose ‘Sea World’ topic. Below are few snapshots of our e-book:

Week 11

Puan Foziah started our class  with some explanations about photo editing. She told us about the important of putting our signature on the edited pictures so that the viewers know that the edited pictures are from our own work. So its purpose is for acknowledgment actually.
superimpose picture
Besides that, she shared some edited pictures with all of us. We were amazed by the way the editor edited the pictures. Two pictures became one and looked real, like the one that was not edited. Besides, the editor used superimposes techniques to put other’s face on other people’s body. It was awesome! Puan Foziah also reminded us to choose meaningful topic when editing pictures so that we have clear ideas on how to choose pictures and finally will be able to edit the pictures effectively.
Moreover, we are required to show our edited pictures that we have for task 1 in module 2.We are supposed to edit a picture by using any picture editing software, put our signature on it and finally upload the picture on the ‘Photobucket’. Thus, before the class ended, I did learn how to do superimpose by using ‘Adobe Photoshop CS3’ with my friends, Kumar and Utaya. Thanks to both of them.
